Celebrity Couples News—Who’s Headed to the Chapel

Who says the second time can’t be the charm?

Apparently not country music singer Sara Evans.

The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, who underwent a very public and very nasty divorce last year, appears to be leaving her ugly past behind her. Less than six months after her split from ex-husband Craig Schelske was made official the country music star is getting married again.

According to her rep, Evans plans to walk down the aisle with Jay Barker, a former quarterback from the University of Alabama.

No wedding date has been set, but fans of the couple can’t say they are surprised by the announcement. After all, ever since the two began dating last November they have been practically inseparable.

Barker, (sports fans know him best as the player who led Alabama to a national championship in 1992) who hosts a popular morning radio show in Birmingham, has swayed Evans to make guest appearances several times since the pair began dating. Likewise, the singer has welcomed Barker on a number of her tour stops.

I’m happy for Evans and Barker (why not, right?), but you have to wonder what impact a quick union has on their respective children. Thirty-seven-year-old Evans has three children from Schelske, and Barker has four children from his previous marriage. Merging the two families can’t be without its challenges.

While Evans and Barker iron out their wedding plans rumors of a possible engagement involving tennis star Serena Williams and singer-actor Common are growing.

The handsome couple was seen kissing, cuddling, and holding hands at a Hollywood nightclub over the Easter weekend.

Reps for both refused to comment on speculation that Common and Williams are about to make their pairing official. However, pals of the muscular tennis pro say they haven’t seen Williams this happy in a long time.
