Some celebrities had high highs this week, while others fell pretty low. Let’s review what happened:
It’s been a bad week for…Jeremy Piven
“Entourage” actor Jeremy Piven had to pull out of the Broadway show Speed-the-Plow after doctors discovered he had “shocking levels” of mercury in his system. What was the culprit? Apparently, Piven had eaten too much sushi and taken too many Chinese herbs for his health. He was hospitalized for three days, but seems to be doing okay now.
It’s been a good week for…Oprah Winfrey
This week, dog loving celebrity Oprah Winfrey was named as PETA’s “Person of the Year.” The organization said that Oprah used her “powerful voice to defend those without one.”
It’s been a bad week for…Ferris Bueller Fans
Matthew Broderick said this week that he would never consider reprising his role as the loveable teen Ferris Bueller. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off helped propel Broderick to stardom and the film is still much loved today, but Broderick said that at 46, he is simply too old to play the “young rebellious guys anymore.” Bummer dude.
It’s been a good week for…the Hungry in New York
Another “Entourage” star made the news this week, but in a good way. Actor Adrian Grenier fought off snow and ice to help deliver food for the hungry in New York City. He and other aide workers collected uneaten dishes from restaurants around NYC then delivered them to the Yorkville Common Pantry, which distributes the food to those in need.
It’s been a bad week for…Paris Hilton
Hot off the heels of a breakup with boyfriend Benji Madden, Paris has now been the victim of a robbery. An estimated two million dollars worth of jewelry were stolen earlier this week when her home in Sherman Oaks was burglarized in the early morning. Fortunately, Paris was not home at the time.
