Celebrity Inspired Surgery—“Star Butts”

Sure, I page through celebrity magazines and wish I had Halle Berry’s eyes, or Sandra Bullock’s chin, or Christie Brinkley’s nose, but I would never undergo a major operation to obtain their assets. But, that’s just me. There are, however, many people who take pictures of Holywood’s “finest” into their plastic surgeon’s office requesting to look “just like them.” (Have you ever seen the show “Dr. 90210?”)

Now, those requesting cosmetic surgery are moving in a new direction—instead of using famous faces as inspiration, now famous fannies are in high demand. In fact, one New York City plastic surgeon has a special procedure called “Star Butts” for people who want to look like their favorite celebrity, at least from behind.

Dr. Brad Jacobs’ is getting major press coverage for his special surgery, which is designed for people fascinated with famous rear ends. He recently told a popular fashion magazine that he created “Starr Butts” because of the growing number of women coming into his office requesting improvements to their backsides.

“It’s becoming more popular than any other procedure I have been doing in the past two years. There’s been a 200-percent increase in how many procedures I have done in the past two years alone,” Dr. Jacobs said.

So which celebrity backsides do Jacobs’ patients want to call their own? He said singers J Lo and Beyonce are the most popular requests. But, there are other options are well. For example, if you came in requesting the “Brazilian Butt Lift,” Dr. Jacobs says he would take fat from other parts of your body and add it to your backside. Dr. Jacobs said procedures run from $5,000 to $12,000 depending on which one you are having done. He also added that recovery time varies from person to person, but most people are back to normal in a week.

A celebrity butt-lift. Hmmm… I’m not sure I would drop 10 grand to have a doctor add fat to my butt, maybe to remove it, but never to add it… I think I do a pretty good job of doing that for free.
