I’ll never forget her oversized red eyeglass frames on TV’s “Life Goes On” and her memorable appearances on NBC’s “ER.” But, I’m sure none of those projects compare to actress Kellie Martin’s latest role: new mom.
According to PEOPLE magazine, Martin and her husband, Keith Christian welcomed their first child on Saturday—a baby girl they named Margaret Heather Christian. According to the magazine, baby Margaret weighed at 8 lbs., and was 21 inches long.
The 31-year-old actress is reportedly doing well, though from the sounds of a prior interview (conducted while she was pregnant) it sounds like Martin may be in for quite a wild ride when she takes her bundle of joy home from the hospital.
“I never even babysat,” she told reporters in August. “The only time I’ve changed a diaper is when my friend, who just had a baby, called and said, ‘Come over, you need to practice.'”
Congrats are also in order for actor Scott Foley (I can’t count the number of nights I spent watching him on TV’s “Felicity”). According to media reports, he just got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, actress Marika Dominczyk.
According to his rep, 34-year-old Foley recently popped the question to 26-year-old Dominczyk with a 4-carat Neil Lane sparkler. The couple met through family in 2003, following Foley’s divorce to actress Jennifer Garner. No word on a wedding date.
Currently, Foley is starring on CBS’s “The Unit” while Dominczyk has a recurring role on “Brothers & Sisters.”
The state of Texas was rocking this past weekend as America’s first family celebrated two major milestones. On Saturday, first Lady Laura Bush celebrated her 60th birthday at the Bush family’s ranch in Crawford, Texas. Media outlets say the President presented her a triple-strand amber-colored necklace. Before the gifts were opened guests dined on a meal of enchiladas, tamales, guacamole, rice and beans and birthday cake. The next day the first couple was at it again—celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary.
