Celebrity Milestones: Births, Birthdays, and Bundy Busts

Olympic gold-winning gymnast Dominique Moceanu and her husband, Dr. Michael Canales, couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift. Instead, of exchanging trinkets on December 25th the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Carmen Noel Canales at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.

According to the new mom, Carmen weighed 7 lbs., 7 oz. upon delivery and measured 18.5 inches.

In a statement to PEOPLE Magazine the 26-year-old Cleveland resident said, “The miracle of baby Carmen being born on Christmas Day makes this wonderful time all the more special to us. This is the best Christmas present we could have ever received!”

The couple just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary last month and didn’t expect their baby to be born until January 3rd.

Little Carmen can turn to Ricky Martin if she wants advice on how to handle getting gypped out of birthday presents on Christmas. The Grammy Award-winning singer’s birthday falls on Christmas Eve. Though, this year the Latin heartthrob got a gift he isn’t complaining about.

The 36-year-old just learned that his native country of Puerto Rico plans to honor him next month at the San Sebastian Street Festival, a wild multi-day event in Old San Juan, which kicks off on January 17th. The city is dedicating its celebration to the singer, in recognition not just of his show business career, but of his charitable work as well.

In 2004, the singer founded the Ricky Martin Foundation. Its goal is to advocate “for the well being of children around the globe in critical areas such as social justice, education and health.”

Finally, the actor who played Bud Bundy on TV’s “Married with Children” will begin 2008 single.

The 3-year marriage of David Faustino and his wife, Andrea, is officially over, according to court records.

When Faustino filed the divorce papers back in February he stated that he did not want to pay spousal support. However, in court documents released Friday a financial settlement had been reached between the two parties, though it was “not attached to the judgment for privacy purposes.”

The 33-year-old actor met his now ex-wife at a spiritual center in Los Angeles in 1999. They got hitched during a quickie wedding in 2004 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, and separated in May 2006.
