Celebrity News: Rehab, Jail, and Hitting back

“Desperate Housewives” Jesse Metcalfe Enters Rehab

Jesse Metcalfe, who plays John Rowland on the successful ABC show “Desperate Housewives,” has voluntarily entered a Los Angeles rehab facility to combat alcohol abuse. Rumors are that 28-year-old Metcalfe checked himself into the center last Monday after several days of heavy partying in Hollywood. His representatives have confirmed he is in rehab and asks that the media respect his privacy. There is no word as to how long he will remain in rehab. The rehab announcement comes as rumors were circulating that Metcalfe had proposed to his girlfriend, Nadine Coyle, singer for the band Girls Aloud.

Ken Kercheval Jailed for Three Days

Do you remember Ken Kercheval? He played Cliff Barnes on the 80s show “Dallas.” The 71-year-old actor was arrested for drunk driving in Indiana last September. He was initially pulled over for failing to turn on his headlights, but the officer suspected he had been drinking and conducted a sobriety test. Kercheval has admitted to a problem with drinking long ago and pleaded guilty to drunk driving last month. He served three days in jail, had his driver’s license suspended for a year, and had to pay a fine and court costs.

Dina Lohan Gets Daughter Back on Track

The media has been bashing Dina Lohan, mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, for being a “party mom” because she goes to bars with her daughter. Dina says she is doing her best to keep Lindsay on track after her month long stay at the Wonderland Center for alcohol rehab. She says Lindsay genetically has an addictive personality and in the movie business world, actors are given drugs like candy when they suffer an injury.

In an interview in the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Dina said “”Listen to me: Lindsay would drag me, literally drag my loser butt (to a club) and say, ‘I need you to know who these people are,'” and “Yeah, she trusts my judgment. She’s in such a whirlwind; she’s in a tornado. I mean, we’re talking serious earthquake, you know?”

I don’t know, I just think a mom partying with her daughter is a bit sad. Maybe they should change the name to Harper’s Bizarre after that interview.
