As I mentioned in my previous blog there is a bidding war brewing over who will land exclusive rights to the first shots of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s soon-to-be born twins (reportedly they are fraternal twin girls due next week). The latest reports have the figure at more than $15 million.
While we won’t know what the final figure will be until Jolie pops out her new babes, we now know the exact amount other celebs are getting for the first published photos of their tiny tots.
According to TMZ.com, first time parents Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves, who welcomed their son Levi into the world four days ago, will be raking in a bundle for shots of their new bundle of joy.
The website is reporting that OK! magazine is forking over $3 million to the hunky actor for exclusive shots of the newest McConaughey. The magazine will publish the baby boy’s first pics plus they have secured rights to young Levi’s first shots with Santa. According to the agreement, McConaughey and Alves must allow OK! magazine to run shots of their son’s first Christmas.
But that’s not all. The $3 million also gets the magazine first rights to wedding photos, should McConaughey and Alves walk down the aisle.
Somehow I don’t think they will be cashing in on that part of the deal.
And it’s not just McConaughey who is lining his pockets with bucks from his baby.
Reports say the intensely private Jessica Alba and hubby Cash Warren have caved to OK! magazine and will also cash in on their first-born.
Young Honor Marie Warren just made her parents $1.5 richer.
Word has it that the newlyweds signed a two-part deal with the publication, which grants them the rights to run pictures of the 2-month-old now, plus one other “event” – meaning either Christmas, Thanksgiving, a family vacation, etc.
Incidentally, prior to giving birth Alba told several reporters that she was “opposed” to selling shots of her then unborn child.
I guess the seven-figure paycheck swayed her.
Money really does talk.
