Celebrity “Real” or “Rumor”—Brady’s Name Gets Sacked and Gwyneth Leaves Her Kids

Brady’s Name Gets Sacked

Yesterday I wrote about the messy baby battle brewing between NFL superstar Tom Brady and his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. Since the birth of their new son John, the stars’ publicists have been trying to gloss over the fact that there is serious tension between the former flames.

While one announcement noted that Brady was with Moynahan at the time of John’s birth, word from an insider now confirms that the New England Patriots quarterback may have been at the hospital during the birth, but not in the room.

Details. Details. Here’s the part that I found interesting about today’s latest update. Despite telling his teammates and even announcing on the field during a pre-season NFL game last week that his son carried the last name of Brady, the football star really got the shaft. According to Moynahan’s publicist, John Edward Thomas Moynahan is not a Brady. Well, at least his last name is not. The baby’s name does include a slight tribute to his dad in his middle names of Thomas and Edward (the star athlete’s full name is Thomas Edward Brady). But, he the infant went home from the hospital as a Moynahan. Okay, but that’s not the “REAL” dig.

Observers on the street (and in practically every Internet chat room) point out that the baby’s initials spell: J.E.T. If you’re from New York, or know anything about the NFL, then you don’t need it spelled out for you. J-E-T = Jets… a bitter rival of Papa Brady’s Pats.

Coincidence or well played move on the part of an understandably bitter Bridget?

Gwyneth Leaves Her Kids

Gwyneth Paltrow has got herself a new gig. My dream job. No, not kissing Ben Affleck. Rather, PBS has recruited the actress to fly to exotic locations and sample regional cuisine for a new cooking show that will air later this year.

Only, part of the deal requires the 34-year-old mother of two to leave her children (Apple, 3 and Moses, 1) at home with her rocker husband Chris Martin for 8 weeks while she tours Spain with celebrity chef Mario Batali.

Turns out only part of this is “REAL.” Paltrow has signed a deal with PBS to tour Spain with Batali. She will be reportedly be sampling on and cooking up local delicacies, which will serve as the basis for the new show. The actress spent summers in Spain as a child and show producers say the program will pay homage to Paltrow’s knowledge of the area.

However, the busy mom says she doesn’t intend to ditch her children to feast on Spanish fare. Instead, according to show producers, Paltrow will travel back and forth from her home in Britain to the show’s set so she won’t have to compromise too much family time.
