I may be jumping the gun a bit by saying that anything is working right in Lindsay Lohan’s life, but at the very least the likely-to-be-incarcerated actress has removed herself from a toxic environment—Hollywood.
According to the latest reports, the 21-year-old has moved back in with her mom Dina in Long Island, New York… at least temporarily. There’s still no word on where the actress has been staying since her July 24 arrest for DUI, driving with a suspended license and drug possession. But, according to the New York Post, Lilo flew first class to Kennedy airport with her younger sister Ali a couple of days ago and has since been reunited with her mother, grandmother and other siblings.
“She’s doing well,” Dina told the paper.
We’ll see how “well” she’s doing once August 24th rolls around. Lohan is due in a Santa Monica courtroom on that day to face the aforementioned charges AND she’s also due on the same day to appear in a Beverly Hills courtroom for a DUI charge relating to a traffic incident that occurred in May. (By the way, Lohan insists she is “innocent” on all counts.)
Regarding the troubled actress’ return to New York, one Beverly Hills addiction specialist told news reporters that it’s a step in the right direction. The specialist added that getting out of L.A. even for a little while should prove to be a positive thing for Lohan.
“If you want sobriety, you have to change everything,” the addiction specialist said. “You have to change your friends, your crowd, your lifestyle.”
I get the feeling that would be easier to do if you actually thought there was something wrong with your “friends, crowd, and lifestyle.” I don’t see that Lilo has come to that conclusion yet.
Speaking of uncomfortable situations, word has it that ex’s Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams will be reuniting again—at least onscreen. The former spouses are reportedly working together (no word on if it’s willingly) on ABC’s “Ugly Betty.”
Network officials say Fox will be guest starring on the show that his wife is a member of AND… things get heated between their characters.
Williams, who got an Emmy nod for her portrayal of a villainous magazine editor, will be bossing around her ex-husband. According to network insiders, Fox will be playing her bodyguard.
It could be a stretch for the former NBA basketball star who retired in 2004. His acting career has been limited to a recurring role on FX’s “Dirt” playing a character suspiciously similar to someone he knows well: a basketball pro with marital problems.
