Celebrity Updates: Moving On

Still no official word as to why R&B singing sensation Usher cancelled his weekend wedding to girlfriend Tameka Foster, but now it seems attention is shifting a bit…

According to media reports, Foster was hospitalized due to pregnancy complications a day after the wedding was called off. Usher’s pregnant fiancée is reportedly recovering in an Atlanta area hospital (and yes, Usher has reportedly been at her side).

Foster told PEOPLE magazine that she and the baby are “fine for now.” She also told the magazine that fans shouldn’t believe all they have been reading in regards to why her nuptials were called off (though she declined to reveal why she and Usher didn’t exchange vows on Saturday).

Regardless of what Foster is saying or not saying about her cancelled wedding, actions (in my opinion) speak louder than words.

Moving on to another dysfunctional celebrity couple…

According to court documents, the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Britney Spears is officially over. The couple’s divorce was finalized in court Monday.

Spears’ attorney revealed that the couple planned to continue splitting custody 50-50 of their two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston and 10-month-old Jayden James. However, there have been reports that the boy’s father, Kevin Fedeline is unhappy with the even split and is planning to file for full custody in the coming weeks.

Apparently, Fed-Ex resisted signing the final divorce decree because he was concerned about Spears’ ever present erratic behavior. As for how the finances were split, TMZ.com is reporting that Brit must pay Federline child support, but the $20,000 per month alimony payment he has been receiving will come to an abrupt end come November (per the prenuptial agreement the couple signed before they tied the knot).

Speaking of child support… The much publicized child support battle between NFL quarterback (and Drew Lachey’s BFF) Matt Leinart and USC basket ball star Brynn Cameron came to temporary end late last week. Court records show Leinart has been ordered to pay $15,000 per month in child support. That’s more than double what he was paying prior to going to court, but about half of what Cameron’s lawyer had requested the couple’s 9-month-old son should receive.

The child support matter may be over, but the issue of child custody has yet to be addressed. Leinart and Cameron are scheduled to back in court next month to discuss their current custody agreement.
