Well, you had to see this coming. He may be the only other man involved in the Anna Nicole Smith saga, besides Larry Birkhead, who emerged smiling. I’m referring to Judge Larry Seidlin… the wisecracking, tear-stained, snarky, former New York cab driver who presided over the Anna Nicole Smith case.
During the court proceeding Seidlin frequently threw out comedic one-liners and referred to the lawyers with nicknames such as “Tex” and “California.” At the time, many observers called Seidlin’s behavior an act and maintained he was angling for his own television program ala “Judge Judy.” Well, guess what? They were right.
According to network execs, Judge Larry is shooting a pilot for his own TV show. In June Seidlin (dubbed Sideshow Seidlin by the media for his courtroom antics) stepped down from the bench after nearly 29 years on the job amid rumors he was negotiating a deal for his own show.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood Reporter just announced that Drew Barrymore has signed on to star in the movie version of the best seller “He’s Just Not That Into You.” Word has it the actress will produce and star in the romantic comedy about modern-day relationships. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie will have interconnecting story lines, which focus on the challenges of reading (or misreading) human behavior.
Also in talks to join Barrymore are Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly. If all goes as planned Connelly will play a woman stuck in a tired marriage with Cooper’s character. Meanwhile, Kevin Connolly will play a man pining after a woman who is having an affair with Cooper. And Goodwin will play a young woman obsessed with Connolly’s character who tries to set up accidental meetings with him only to run across his friend, played by Long, who takes her on as a “My Fair Lady” experiment.
Did you get all that? I’m sure it will be easier to follow on the big screen.
Filming is slated to being in September. No release date has been set.
