I have mentioned in previous blogs that I seem to have the exercise routine down pretty good. I am consistently working out each week at a minimum of 3 times but more often than not, 4 to 5 times.
However where I continue to struggle is with my eating. But then again, for the most part I have been attempting an overhaul of changes when it comes to that, instead of taking my own advice about exercise and doing it in steps.
Changing the way you eat can be difficult if you try to do too much at one time. Drastic changes such as this aren’t very easy to stick to. So it might be best to focus on one eating habit or meal at a time.
For instance, you might decide that the first thing you are going to work on is replacing soda with water. If you can do this for two to three weeks, then you might be ready to move onto something else.
What I have decided to do is take one meal at a time. I already started this a couple of months ago with breakfast. I drink more water in the morning, so I’m not as hungry. I eat a healthy breakfast, which I have noticed gives me more energy.
Since I have been doing this for a time, I am now working on my lunch meal. While at one time eating hotdogs, fish sticks and other processed foods used to be a regular, I have switched to incorporating vegetables and either a turkey or tuna sandwich.
My next plan is to work on my snacking in between, changing it to fruits, nuts and other healthier options. This seems to be working for me. I just have to make sure I keep moving forward. What ideas do you have on making changes to your eating habits?
