Cheap (But Stylish) Caribbean Cruises

My friend, her husband and twin teenage daughters spent their spring break cruising the Caribbean. They had a wonderful time; however, when she told me how much they paid for the trip my jaw hit the floor. Still, she insists it was worth every penny and since her girls are involved in a litany of summer activities it wasn’t feasible for her family to wait until the off-peak summer months to sail around the Caribbean.

My pal’s vacation cost her a bundle, but if you are interested in taking a sun-soaked sail to the tropics for a fraction of what it cost her you are in luck. Summer is the perfect time to save some serious dollars and avoid winter crowds. Right now discounts are running as high as 71% and prices as low as $289. Take a look:

Carnival

This major deal comes courtesy of CruisesOnly. They are currently offering a five-night Western Caribbean odyssey aboard Carnival’s Holiday at a jaw-dropping discount of 71%. Inside cabins on this voyage are priced at just $289 on the August 30 departure. Meanwhile, oceanview units are going for just $369. To give you an idea of how much you are saving consider that regular rack rates for inside staterooms on this particular journey typically cost $999. The round-trip cruise from Alabama’s port of Mobile takes you to two Mexican destinations — Progreso and Merida — plus you’ll spend two entire days at sea.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Orbitz is currently offering outstanding deals to the eastern Caribbean. If you are free to travel on August 23rd then you can take advantage of an eight-night voyage aboard Norwegian Spirit, which has been reduced in price by 26%. Right now inside cabins are selling for $1,129; oceanview units for $1,149; and balconied staterooms have been reduced to $1,379. The regular price for the same luxury unit is $1,529 so that means you’re saving $400. This round-trip cruise has you departing from New York and visiting the hot, hot, hot sands of San Juan, Puerto Rico; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Cayo Levantado in the Dominican Republic. The price of the cruise also covers four full days at sea.

Princess Cruises

Vacation Outlet has the skinny on a luxury cruise loaded with style. The nine-night Eastern Caribbean odyssey aboard Caribbean Princess is normally priced at $1,444 but with this deal the cost drops to just $1,244. (A savings of $200.) The round-trip cruise departs from New York on July 19th and takes you on an island adventure to Grand Turk, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Bermuda. The trip also includes four full days at sea.
