No one wants to be cheap when it comes to Halloween treats and giving out candy to the kids, but we do want to get our treats cheaply. Candy is getting very expensive, so why not do what we can to be generous at Halloween without spending a fortune?
Here are some ideas on how you can spend less on Halloween treats this year.
Use Coupons
Right now there are a ton of coupons for candy and other Halloween treats. Stock up on those coupons and then combine them with the sales to get your Halloween treats at rock bottom prices, or in some cases, free.
You can find coupons in many different places. Look for them in the Sunday Inserts of the newspaper, in the mail, attached to store shelves, in the store flyers, online (printable coupons) and in popular magazines. Ask friends and family to save coupons for you.
Make Your Own
You can get away with homemade treats for the families who know you well. They will wind up with better treats, and you’ll spend less money on those treats. Baked goods, such as cookies, as less expensive from scratch and would be very welcome.
The Internet has a ton of different low cost recipes for Halloween treats, and many of them require only assembly and not actual cooking or baking.
Dollar Store
Your local dollar store may have some nice cheap treats at a fraction of the price of other stores. Many carry name brand candy, not just off brands. And, if you can’t find any candy that you like, look at all of the little packaged toys. Large bags of bouncy balls, toy soldiers, pencils, tattoos, stickers and party favors make nice treats for very little money.
