Home schooling your children is a noble profession. You get to teach your children everything that they need to know to become adults and succeed in life. Unfortunately, most of the time any books and other supplies that you use in the process have to be paid directly out of your family budget. And, these home schooling books and supplies can get pretty expensive. Here are some ways to cut down on that expense by getting the supplies for less money.
Check out the dollar or discount store
I have found so many great workbooks at the dollar store that help me home school my children at the preschool level. These colorful books cover everything from cutting and coloring, to writing and number ordination. I’ve also seen plenty of science, math and reading workbooks that I have picked up for my older child to use during the summer (he attends a public school). Five Below and Dollar Tree are two discount chains where I have seen the best selection.
Buy them used

You receive a credit for each book you mail out to someone else, and your credit can be used on any book that is available in the system. If you need a book that isn’t currently available, you can put it on your wish list, and the site will hold the books for you when they become available.
