When we moved to Texas there was a movie theater we went to more than others. It had a mommy and me program that I couldn’t wait to take part in. The theater changed owners and the mommy and me program stopped before we got our first foster placement. I was disappointed. What better way to go to a movie with children than at a theater filled with other moms with their children.
Every summer the area foster parents go see a sponsored movie. The first year we went we saw Ice Age 3: Attack of the Dinosaurs. The movie was at Studio Movie Grill. I brought a Lunchable for Jessie because I didn’t think she’d do well with pizza and popcorn is a choking hazard. She wasn’t all that interested in the movie, but it was a free event and the theater was filled with small children.
I am looking forward to Cinemark theaters’ Summer Movie Clubhouse. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the summer you can go to the clubhouse movie for a dollar or buy all ten movies ahead for $5.00. I don’t know that Jessie will like the movies and I’m sure the baby may have a harder time but the price is right. There are a number of participating theaters in my area including several where we could meet friends.
While I was researching the Summer Movie Clubhouse, I came across more discount movie days at Cinemark. I could spend every day at the movies very cheaply, if I wanted to. Unfortunately, not all the programs are at the theater that’s close by. Monday is Reel Family Time where tickets are $.75 for parties of three or more. On Tuesdays all movies are discounted with some exceptions.
I wish the AMC theater were doing a similar program.
