I live about 2,000 miles away from Hollywood so to say that star sightings are rare around these parts is no exaggeration. Which is why it’s quite thrilling to know that one of Hollywood’s hottest families is roaming just miles from our home. (Okay, 150, but who’s counting?)
The Jolie-Pitt clan (as in Brad and Angelina) is currently living it up in Chicago–taking in the Windy City’s most popular attractions—-while Angie shoots her new movie, “Wanted.”
The happy family has been seen strolling the streets of Chi-town visiting local books stores and eating at various McDonald’s restaurants. Last week I heard the family was planning a trip to one of our family’s favorite spots–The Field Museum, famous for housing “Sue,” the world’s most complete T-Rex skeleton.
Sure enough, on Saturday the superstar couple packed up all four of their children and took in the prehistoric exhibits on display. Unfortunately for us Midwestern commoners, the chance of rubbing elbows with the hunky actor and his full-lipped girlfriend was simply not going to happen. (Surprise, surprise.) Rather, Brad, Angelina, Maddox, Zahara, Pax, and baby Shiloh got the star treatment. The family got the run of the museum when management decided to stay open after hours to accommodate the good-looking clan. (Do you have any idea what my daughter would do is she was allowed to run amuck in The Field Museum after hours?)
PEOPLE Magazine is also reporting that Brad and Angie have been hitting the town after putting their children to sleep. The couple was recently spotted sharing a quiet dinner at Japonais, an upscale Asian-fusion eatery located along the Chicago River.
In other Chicago news… the Broadway sort… R&B singer Brian McKnight is the latest star hired to put his vocal cords to good use in the long-running musical revival of “Chicago.”
The award-winning singer is scheduled to join the New York cast on October 8th as lawyer, Billy Flynn. McKnight is slated to appear in the production at the Ambassador Theatre through November 18th.
The Broadway show also has a new “Mama Morton.” Tony winner Adriane Lenox (she won the award for her performance as a distraught parent in “Doubt”), will be in “Chicago” through September 30th.
