For many years now my husband and I have either bought or received current Chick-fil-A calendars. The calendars cost $5 each and contain one coupon per month (sometimes even two coupons per month). Sometimes the month’s coupon is for a free product without the purchase of anything else, and this month’s coupon was just that.
This month’s coupon (Jan ’07) is for a free chicken sandwich; the regular cost of that sandwich is somewhere under $3. Last night my husband, our daughter, and I went to a Chick-fil-A and claimed our yummy and free sandwiches. This was the first year we bought a calendar for our daughter, too, since she no longer eats off our plates. So, yes, we have 3 of the same Chick-fil-A calendars at home, but we keep them in the pantry, where we don’t look at them until we need to tear out coupons! Basically we buy the calendars for the coupons only. Hey – who needs 3 of the same calendars hanging at their home? Not us!
Now last year we didn’t purchase the Chick-fil-A calendar because the coupons were not good at all. Most, if not all of the coupons were buy one product and get something else free, and the something else was usually a rather inexpensive side item. For instance, buy a wrap and get a free drink. So we skipped out on last year’s coupons. It was a bummer, but at least this year the coupons are much better.
If you have a Chick-fil-A near you, you can buy their calendars right there in their restaurant. Going to Chick-fil-A once a month for something either free or [basically] free can be a really fun ritual (or is tradition the word?). And it’s nice to take the family out and not pay as much as you normally would for a meal.
Getting a Chick-fil-A calendar is definitely something I recommend for your family, if you like to take them out to eat once in a while. If you want a Chick-fil-A calendar, go soon to Chick-fil-A or else you’ll need to wait ’till next year.
