Combine Colors
We often keep a similar tone of colors in each room to avoid a clashing effect. But you can try to combine colors from different color families to put emphasis on certain parts of the room. The best way is to use inequal amounts of colors from different color families. For example, use a little dark color to put emphasis on a room painted in light color. You can also try to combine warm colors with cool colors.
Black and White
These two colors are seldom used as the main color of a room. Black rooms look very dark and scary and it is best not to use black for painting a whole room. White rooms create a dry, cold and formal atmosphere as in a hospital. You should avoid using white on its own if you want to avoid such an atmosphere in your home. You can try to experiment with these two extreme colors to create a different sensation in your home. Unusual Colors
Do you dare to try some unusual colors? Dark colors are often used only to add contrast to light colors. You can actually use a dark color for a whole room.
