Although Christmas just ended I thought that I would share what I did for my Christmas card. The great thing about cards is that you can always recreatee a card with a different color scheme and a different sentiment and you have a birthday, thank you or wedding cards that can all follow the same design.
This year, my goal was to keep it simple. I choose coordinating paper, one simple embellishment and a stamp to create the front of the card.
Here are the supplies that I used:
Basic Grey Dasher Patterned Paper
Bazzill Cardstock
Imaginisce Velvet Poinsettias and Brads
Making Memories Magnetic Stamp
I bought a collection pack of the Basic Grey patterned paper. This includes 18 different sheets of patterned paper. Although each design in quite different, they are all create with the same color scheme as so they all look good together.
Here are the steps for creating the cards:
1. Cut Bazzill cardstock into 11 1/2 X 4 1/4 sheets. Fold to create card.
2. Cut Basic Grey patterned paper into 5 X 4 rectangles. Cut one rectangle for each card.
3. Cut smaller 2 X 3 rectangles from the patterned paper.
4. Attach the large rectangle to the cardstock card. Attach the small rectangle to the right side of the large rectangle paper. (See photo.)
5. Place brad through the velvet flower. Attach the flower to the card with glue dots.
6. Stamp Merry Christmas onto each card.
The inside of our card included a family picture attached to the top of the inside of the card and a short family letter attached to the bottom half of the inside of the card.
My favorite thing about these cards was that they were all different. I mixed and matched all of the different papers to create unique cards. I highly recommend using coordinating paper lines if you decide to do this so that you can easily mix different patterned papers and have them look good together.
