Zoo Memberships: A local zoo membership is a great idea for a homeschooling family. It will offer the family a year’s worth of field trips and learning. It is also a gift the entire family will adore. Covering one family with one gift is brilliant.
Gift Subscriptions: Subscriptions are my favorite gifts because it gives all year long. There are so many wonderful educational magazines, clubs, and activities you can give all year long. Many companies offer subscription services that would benefit a homeschooling family. Educational magazines, Kiwi Crate, Little Passports, and Little Scientist’s Club, and more! The homeschooling family in your life will be thrilled month after month and think of you as they get their package in the mail. If you are not sure what educational type subscription to give then think about giving a fruit basket a month club. Everyone in the family will love that.
Gift Cards: Gift cards come to the rescue when you don’t know what to purchase. Homeschooling families love getting gift cards to places they frequent such as art supply stores, book stores, or educational stores. You could think outside of the box and get a gas card for field trips or restaurants for when they are on the road. Most homeschoolers are never home.
Box of art supplies: I used to ask for this every year but for some reason it was bypassed. I was told it did not seem like a gift. Well, to the arts and craft homeschooling family it is an exciting gift. However, for my daughter’s birthday one year a friend gave her a gift bag filled with school supplies. It was my daughter’s favorite gift! My little artist would be head over heels for a box of paper, colored pencils, clay, scissors, tape, and all the trimmings.
Paper and Printer Ink: If you want to make a homeschool mom’s eyes light up then give the gift of paper and printer ink. If you do not know the type of printer then give a gift certificate to an office supply store.
