Christmas Gifts: Ideas for a little something

Sometimes, smaller gifts that are the most difficult to select. If you are looking for a little something to give as a gift, here are some nice ideas:

More than a Photo

Depending on where you purchase them, you can have ornaments printed with an image or you can select photo frame ornaments. While there are several designs including those that simply are miniature picture frames, there are also that look like a glass ornament with a built in frame. Many styles are very attractive and can be purchased in pretty gift boxes. Add a family picture or a picture of your kids or new baby, and you’ll have the perfect gift for distant relatives, godparents, etc. “Talking” photo ornaments are a sweet touch for relatives who don’t live nearby. Record a special message or sing a holiday song.

Other Ornaments

For a grab bag, a neighbor who likes crafts, or maybe even as a hostess gift, you can pick up some really nice ornament kits. There are some lovely beaded designs. If you don’t think the people on your list would enjoy making a special ornament, consider picking out special ornaments that reflect their interests. Buy ‘em Lunch or Leave the Tip

Pick up a few gift cards for a fast food shop or gift certificates for a local café so you’ll have them on hand when you need a tip or small gift. You can usually find them in holiday designs or with decorative envelopes. You should be able to select any dollar amount you like. Tell the mail carrier or package delivery person, “Merry Christmas; have lunch on me.” Cash is always good too, so give a tip instead of a gift if you prefer. Putting cash inside a money holder card is a nice touch.
