Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse

I need free and low cost activities to do with the children this summer. School’s almost out and we’re going to need to do something. As much as I love to sit around the house, watch TV, and work on my computer, the toddler will go stir crazy. Daddy works from home and he needs some quiet to be able to do his job. Having the toddler in school has really gone a long way toward some quiet time in the house.

We just got a family membership to the YMCA. That’s taking the place of Gymboree Play and Music classes. As much as we loved Gymboree, it became too hard with two children and gas prices are so high that driving an hour for a play class isn’t all that exciting to me. Swimming lessons are $40 a session and I have both girls enrolled in a class starting in late June.

My favorite place to take Jessie to play is McDonald’s. She has the best time climbing on the structure and there are always other children to play with. It’s not ideal anymore because there’s nothing for the baby to do and nowhere for the baby to crawl. We also can’t go to McDonald’s without buying a Happy Meal with apples.

Cinemark has announced its summer movie series for children. For $5.00 you can pre-buy passes to all ten movies or spend a dollar at the door. I am more than happy to spend a dollar a ticket for the three of us to get out of the Texas heat and see a few movies. The movies start next week with The Wizard of Oz. I cannot wait. Even if Jessie can’t sit through the movie, it won’t cost too much and everyone there will be in the same boat.
