Classical Music for Your Child

Are you looking for a way to introduce your child to fine arts? Maestro Classics will not only introduce your child to classical music it will make your child fall in love with it. I never thought I would hear myself saying “Turn off the Tchaikovsky and go to bed!”

Maestro Classics gives a magical retelling of The Story of Swan Lake performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Simon and narrated by Yadu (Konrad Czynski). The music is simply beautiful and the narration engaging. The Story of Swan Lake is magical and grabs the attention of whoever is listening. You are drawn into another world without laundry, messes or crying and simply relax. The kids magically take this time as a reprieve from adding to the laundry, making messes and crying. Of course, you may hear some displeasure when the CD ends.

I have four children ages 12, 10, 5, and 2. I have three girls and one boy. My son wanted no part in The Story of Swan Lake. My five year old recognized the story from the cover right away and begged me to play it. My two year old could only express something that sounded like “sween boox gabba “. I’m as confused as you. My 12 year old was resigned to the fact it would be lame because she didn’t think of it first.

From the first minute my 5 year old was engaged. Minute two, my two year old was finally done hopping around and started to listen. From that moment all movements were in tune to the music. My 12 year old found it to be okay and my 10 year old was still not convinced that anything without a football could be worth spending your time on. Then it came….the moment the harshest critics’ hearts grew soft and ears perked up…Speed Metal Swan. Joe Stump a leading authority on shred guitar performs Speed Metal Swan on the CD. Both my 12 and 10 year old children play guitar so this caught their ears. From that moment on they were hooked. Now if only I could find a way to say “stop with music appreciation I have a headache” and not feel bad about it.

Disclosure: Item provided by Maestro Classics for the purpose of review. I would like to thank them as I now I have Tchaikovsky etched in my brain.
