There are so many things to keep clean in your home. Every room you walk into needs at the very least a dust and vacuum, but most likely something more is needed, at least occasionally.
The bathroom is the biggest culprit of many different things to clean. When I think of cleaning the bathroom I’m thinking tub, sink, toilet, and wash the floor, the basics. There are so many other things in the bathroom that need to be cleaned.
Let’s start with toothbrushes. Did you know that on the counter next to the sink is the worst place you can keep your toothbrush? Studies have shown that when the toilet is flushed tiny particles of feces can become airborne and land everywhere, including your toothbrush. So to start with do not store your toothbrush out in the open, store it in a drawer or the medicine cabinet. I also like to stick my toothbrush in boiling water once a month and replace every three months. Your toothbrush should also be replaced after any illness.
Next there are rugs, most bath rugs do great in the washer but if they have any type of rubberized backing do not put them in the dryer. If the weather is nice take them outside and hang them up to dry or just drape them over the shower rod.
What about your makeup brushes? Do you clean yours regularly? I know I don’t, I should, but I don’t. Make up brushes should be cleaned once a week in hot soapy water, baby shampoo is great for this because it doesn’t coat the bristles. If you use a lipstick brush first us a makeup remover and then wash it.
Mirrors, mirrors everywhere, at least in my bathroom. I have, of course, the big one on the wall, then I have a smaller magnifying one mounted on an accordion arm on the wall and the one that I use to check the back of my hair. I have the weirdest cowlick and left untamed the back of my head always looks like I just woke up so I have to check, tame and shellac in place. Anyway, I use only vinegar on a cloth on my mirrors, it is always streak free and cuts through the hairspray like magic.
