Today’s blog is going to address how I clean in 30 minutes or less on Mondays. By keeping a consistent schedule, my house is ready for guests at the drop of a hat most of the time.
I start off each morning with a cup of coffee. That is my fuel to get me started. I begin my cleaning routine within minutes of waking up. Why? I have a couple of reasons for this.
The first is that I want to get the cleaning out of the way, so I can move on to bigger and better things. The second is that it helps to wake me up.
Now there are two areas of cleaning that I do Monday through Sunday. So in this blog I am going to share that. But then I will also share what I specifically do just on Mondays.
Every single day of the week I do a wipe down in my kitchen and bathroom. Because of the fact that I have three teenagers, three dogs and a cat…smudges, dust and hair can be a real problem.
My favorite products to use are Lysol or Clorox wipes (depending on which is cheaper or on sale). Using a wipe I first do a quick swipe over my coffee maker, toaster, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Then I take another wipe and go over the counters.
However, since Mondays I focus my cleaning on the kitchen, this is the only day I don’t use the wipes. So the quick wiping down in my kitchen is actually Tuesday through Sunday.
The other cleaning I do on a daily basis is in the bathroom and once again, I use the wipes to go over the sink, toilet and around the toilet. This helps to keep the bathroom fairly maintained (I do have two sons and a husband, mind you).
Since Mondays my focus is on the kitchen, my cleaning is a little deeper than a quick wipe down. I use my microfiber cloth to clean the entire kitchen. That’s what is so great about these cloths. You can clean so much with them.
I start off with first wiping down my counters and everything sitting on top of them. I rinse the cloth and then wipe down the appliances. I rinse it yet again and wipe down the garbage can, rinse again and I clean the inside of my sinks.
One final rinse and with the same cloth I get down on my hands and knees and clean the floor. The final touches are a quick dusting of the ceiling fan (by doing this every Monday, the dust doesn’t accumulate) and cleaning out my drains.
To clean them, I pour some baking soda down the drains, followed up with vinegar and while the bubbles are forming and working, I boil some water and then dump that down the drains. All of this, including the wiping down of the bathroom takes me less than 30 minutes.
In my next blog I will talk about my cleaning routine on Tuesdays.
