Try these ideas to make cleaning simpler.
Non-Stick Cooking Spray
It makes sense to use non-stick cooking spray before cooking, but what about after? When you have a stuck on mess, spray cooking spray directly onto the problem area. Allow it to soak in for a few minutes and it will begin to release cooked on food. Scrape away as much of the debris as possible, rinse, and then scour as usual with your favorite dish washing liquid.
Ammonia
Straight ammonia, not just a cleaner that contains ammonia, is one of the best weapons against waxy build up. It will remove scuff marks from you entryway, wax from your kitchen floor, and crayon from the side of the bathtub. Remember to ventilate the area well when using straight ammonia, and never mix it or any ammonia based product with bleach. Ammonia based glass cleaners also work well on greasy or waxy messes.
Don’t Mix Cleaning Products
Ammonia and bleach don’t mix, but many other cleaning products should never be mixed together either. They can create harmful chemical reactions. If the first product you tried didn’t do the trick, rinse thoroughly before attempting to use something else. Also, it pays to read caution labels on cleaning products.
Cleaning Ashtrays
Yes, smoking is taboo, but maybe you recently purchased a used car that has dirty ashtrays. If so, orange cleaner will remove stuck on tar from them. Spray the ashtray with a liberal amount of orange oil cleaner, allow it to soak, and in a few minutes the gunk will come right off.
Natural Furniture Polish
Mix several drops of olive oil with a tablespoon of vinegar and dilute with 3 tablespoons of water. Wipe the mixture onto furniture with a soft cloth, then wipe away. Be sure to stir this mixture each time you use it. Your furniture will be clean and the oil will soak in and help restore dry wood.
