Do you know the best way to vacuum or how to keep the roll of plastic wrap from falling out of it’s box? Sometimes it is the clever little tricks that make daily keeping of a home so much easier and more effective. Here are plenty of clever home tips that I bet you didn’t know about.
On a roll
Did you know that from the very beginning, those boxes that hold plastic wrap and aluminum foil were engineered to prevent the rolls from falling out when you are trying to rip off a piece of wrap or foil? It is true. Go grab a box and look on each side. You’ll find little tabs that can be pushed in to hold the roll in place and prevent it from falling out!
No more footprints
If you are the kind of precise person who likes a freshly vacuumed floor to look pristine, then you will love this tip, which will have your carpet looking as though you hovered above it like an angel while vacuuming. Start at the corner of the room that is the farthest away from the door. Vacuum slowly with a front-to-back motion, lightly overlapping your strokes and you make your way to the door. There will be no footprints and just the right amount of a vacuuming pattern.
Five minutes with a laundry basket
Do you need a quick pick up of the house before company arrives or before bedtime? Here is a clever tip. Get out a laundry basket and go through each room picking up items that don’t belong in the room. Then put away items that do belong in the room. If you have a little extra time, you can bring the basket to the next room and repeat, also putting away items for that room that you might have already collected. Otherwise, make it part of your daily routine to empty the basket at another point in the day.
