Clooney’s Crash

George Clooney is in a world of hurt this morning. Though, I’m not quite sure what is causing him the most pain-—his freshly fractured rib or the prospect that he has potentially ended the career of his Las Vegas cocktail waitress girlfriend.

For those of you who don’t already know (despite it being broadcast on all the major networks and every cable news channel out there) the 46-year-old actor and his gal pal Sarah Larson were involved in an accident yesterday in New Jersey. According to police, Clooney was driving his Harley-Davidson on a busy street in Weehawken late Friday afternoon when he collided with a car that was allegedly attempting to make a right turn from the left lane.

Clooney’s rep told reporters his client suffered a hairline fracture of a rib and road rash. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Larson broke her foot and received facial lacerations (not good news for a woman who makes her living off of her gorgeous looks and her ability to remain on her feet all night catering to customers).

Both Clooney and Larson were reportedly treated and released from a local hospital. Police say Larson was transported to the medical facility in an ambulance and Clooney followed on his motorcycle.

The driver of the car Clooney slammed into was reportedly uninjured. Though, if Clooney’s pals have their way he may not stay that way for long. According to police, there is a discrepancy as to how the accident went down. Officers say Clooney told them he was driving in the right lane when the other driver sped up to try and pass him before making the right turn. But the driver of the car told police it was Clooney who was trying to pass cars in the right lane.

Hmmm…

Reports say Clooney, who is in the New York area filming his a new movie, should make a full recovery. As for Larson, there’s been no official word on how severe her facial lacerations are. The former “Fear Factor” winner is reportedly still employed as cocktail waitress at Las Vegas’s Moon nightclub in the Palms Casino Resort, where “Ocean’s Thirteen” had its premiere this summer (that’s where she met Clooney), though there’s no telling at this point when she will return.
