On to more clutterbusting! I can’t tell you how excited I am to help get rid of your clutter. I feel lighter and more in control already. I realize I may have a problem but I’m ok with it!
The first place I look to get rid of things is the local thrift store. Here in Utah we have one run by the church and they do a lot of good things with the proceeds. That is my go to way to get rid of clothes and household items.
Freecycle is another great place, the best part is you don’t even have to leave home, you list what you want to give away and people come and pick it up. Freecycle is great for things you can’t take to the thrift store. I’ve gotten rid of half used cans of paint, fencing, stone pavers, assorted pieces of wood and a huge mirror that was mounted on my bathroom wall. Google freecycle and find one in your area.
Some websites to help you sell things, besides Ebay and Craigslist:
tinypay.me– simple, no account needed. The banner says you can be selling things in 60 seconds, all you need is a paypal account. You can even sell digital things as well.
Gumroad.com– this site is for creating and selling digital goods
karmaGoat.com– list an item, pick a charity you care about and 85% of the proceeds are donated to that charity.
Keepio.com– this site is for collectors so if you have collectables to sell, this is the place to go.
Neverlikeditanyway.com– this site is funny, in a sad way. It’s a place to break up with all the things your last boyfriend gave you. Everyone tells the story of their items. If you are looking for jewelry or a wedding dress this is the place to go as well.
Taskrabbit.com– this site isn’t to sell things it’s a place to find someone locally to do the jobs you hate, like cleaning out the garage.
There are so many more sites out there, some will make you laugh. This is enough to get you started so go forth and purge!
