The claims are that it most certainly can benefit a weight loss program. Of course, coconut oil by itself will not aid in weight loss. However, adding it into a healthy diet benefit you from the inside out.

It contains short and medium-chain fatty acids that help in taking off excessive weight.

Tips for Using Coconut Oil

When using it for beauty needs remember that less is more. You need very little to moisturize.

Melt before using it for baking to get an accurate measurement.

Virgin Cold Pressed/Unrefined: First choice for baking and cooking due to its higher fatty acid content and limited filtering.

Refined Expeller Pressed: Great choice for cosmetic purposes, like soap making and hair conditioner.

Honey Butter Spread

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup raw honey

Coconut Oil Vinaigrette

1/4 cup coconut vinegar

1 tsp raw honey

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 cup coconut oil, liquefied

1/2 cup virgin olive oil

Whisk vinegar, honey, salt and pepper until salt dissolves. Slowly add oils and continue whisking. Allow to stand 5 minutes and serve over crisp salad.
