Comfort for Sore Feet

Sore feet can prevent you from taking another step. It is hard enough to mentally prepare for working out you do not need another issue to keep you on the couch. I know what it is like to have sore feet. It makes you want to sit down and watch a movie as opposed to walking a few miles. I have a constant struggle with my heel causing me pain. When I wake up in the morning the pain is at its worst. It makes me want to sit back down but as a mom of four that is impossible anyway.

Causes of sore feet:

Weight gain

Pregnancy

Shoes fitting improperly

Standing or walking on hard surfaces for long amounts of time

Comfort for sore feet:

Massage: Who does not love a good foot massage? It can help give you the boost you need to get moving again. Sometimes your foot muscles are sore and a massage can have a lasting effect. Most of the time the tightness in the plantar fascia is the cause of heel and foot pain. The plantar fascia provides structure to the arch and shock absorption.

Arch Supports: My husband has custom arch supports. It is the difference between night and day when he wears them and when he cannot due to the inability to fit in a shoe. You may not need custom arch supports. You can find plenty of brands in the store that sell supports. Supporting your arch will help absorb shock and prevent your feet from feeling so much strain from walking or running. If you have a heel problem, like me, you can find store bought solutions and supports as well.

Shoe Problems
: Shoes do make the world of difference between sore feet and comfortable feet. When I wear sandals my foot problems increase. I used to wear slip on shoes every day. Now, I wear supportive tennis shoes whenever possible. I love fashionable shoes, so in my mind, I wear the supportive shoes as much as I can at home and running to the grocery store so I can wear my fun shoes out on the town. Sure, there may be problems with that logic but I am holding onto it for now. Seriously though, shoes need to fit properly and absorb the right amount of shock. Do not work out in shoes that are too big or small. Serious injuries can happen if you wear the wrong shoes.
