Here are some fun felt activity/crafts for your children to enjoy this Christmas season. You can play with these crafts over and over again glue the accessories to make the craft once.
Felt Christmas Tree
Supplies:
Scissors
Green, yellow, and brown felt
Felt in assorted colors
Glitter glue
Tacky Glue
Triangle template
Star template
Instructions:
Cut out a triangle from your piece of green felt. You can cut this from an 8×10 sheet of felt or purchase a yard and make a large felt tree.
Cut out a star for the top of tree from yellow felt.
From your assorted colors cut out garland and bulbs to “hang” on the tree. To cut bulbs you can cut circles, ovals, or stars. You can layer your bulbs with other pieces of color felt and attach with tacky glue. Decorate the bulbs with glitter glue. To cut garland measure across the tree at various lengths to fit three or four areas of the tree. Cut additional pieces to decorate the garland or use glitter glue.
Allow your child to “decorate” the tree using the felt bulbs, star and garland. You can glue the ornaments and such on the tree. If you want your child to have an activity that is ongoing then do not glue the pieces down so he can have fun decorating over and over again.
