Last month I posted directions to making an advent candy wreath. A fun idea for children of all ages. Today, I want to share another idea based on the same concept. However, this wreath will hold tea bags and would be perfect for the tea lover in your life. I posted my wreath picture on my Facebook blog page and everyone wanted directions. So here they are!
Christmas Tea Wreath
Supplies:
Cardboard
Scrapbook printed paper or Christmas themed wrapping paper.
Close pins
Ribbon
Tacky Glue
Box of Tea
Scissors
Tape
Exacto Knife
Directions:
Trace a circle on to a heavy piece of cardboard. A shipping box is a nice option. The circle can be any size you desire. I used a dinner plate.
Trace a smaller circle inside the larger circle.
Using your scissors cut out the large circle. Then with the exacto knife cut out the center circle. I used scissors to cut the center circle. It was not easy but if you need to poke a hole in the middle of the center circle and cut from that point around.
Using your cardboard “wreath” as a template place it on top of your scrapbook paper or wrapping paper and trace it. Cut it to size and repeat so you have paper to cover the front and back. Glue the paper to each side. You may want to cut the top paper slightly bigger to fold over the edge.
Place your close pins around the circle to determine how many you will need. Make sure to place them with the clip side out so you can attach the tea bags correctly.
You can paint your close pins or glue a flat piece of ribbon to each one. You can also cut to size wrapping paper or scrapbook paper. Once you decorated your close pin glue each one to your wreath.
You can place a magnet to the back of the wreath or simply take a piece of ribbon and tie it so your can hang on a nail or hook.
Clip a tea bag to each close pin.
You are done and your Christmas Tea Wreath is ready for cozy nights looking at the tree or to give as a gift to your tea loving neighbor or friend.
