This idea is cute, easy, and affordable. Pick up a cheap laundry basket at any dollar store. If the cheap ones seem a little flimsy, that’s okay in this case, because you want to be able to move and you’ll need to cut out most of the bottom and cut out arm holes.
Put some clothes in the basket. You can use rags or old clothes and attach them to the inner sides of the basket with a little glue to keep them from falling out the bottom. Lay some flat, bunch some up, whatever you like. Leave a couple items hanging over the edge as if the basket is overflowing.
Definitely put at least one item of clothing on top of the head. Drape a towel over the head from side to side, making sure the line of sight is not blocked. Keep in place by pinning to the hair with bobby pins. You can use any item of clothing or fabric, it doesn’t have to be a towel.
Next, pin a few items of clothing onto sleeves and pants. Stick on some socks. Glue a couple onto the sides of the basket as well (if you’re anything like me, you certainly have a few around that you can’t find the match for). Tape or pin a few fabric softener sheets to clothing as well.
Now, make a matching trick or treat container. Just clean out a liquid laundry detergent jug with a handle. Continue rinsing it out until it no longer smells like laundry detergent. Dry it out and then cut a round hole in the front where people can pop candy into the jug, or simply remove the lid and allow candy to be placed inside that way.
*You can make a clothes hamper by replacing the laundry basekt with a tall box.
