Cream Doesn’t Cut It At Diddy’s White Bash

It’s called a “WHITE Party” for a reason.

This weekend’s star-studded bash thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs (or whatever he’s going by these days) is an annual event that draws dozens of Hollywood’s biggest names. Over the years the party (which has been held in St. Tropez but was moved back to Diddy’s Hamptons’ mansion this year) has morphed into a monstrously lavish affair.

The party is by invite only and the dress code is strictly enforced. Strictly, strictly enforced… as in the hip-hop mogul hires “fashion police” to scour the white carpet leading to the party’s entrance. If a guest isn’t wearing white they are asked to change. No joke. Just ask Billy Joel’s wife, Katie Lee.

Apparently, the Piano Man’s better half is either color blind or decided to defy Diddy’s dress code because she showed up wearing (GASP!) a cream colored ensemble and was intercepted by a “fashion cop” who informed her that she needed to change into something a bit “whiter” to gain admittance to the end of the summer shindig. I guess white must not be Katie Lee’s color because she opted to go home instead.

Those celebrities following the rules included Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Donna Karan, Ashley Olsen, Star Jones and Tommy Lee. The rocker and his entire crew donned matching white outfits, though Lee reportedly added a bit of bling to his—a fat silver chain studded with diamonds, which he dangled from his short pants.

Diddy, meanwhile, wore white sneakers with silver detailing, a white shirt and pants and a gold medallion. He blended into his large white mansion, which sits on the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic. Guests say Diddy’s luxe digs were festooned with large balloons illuminated with white lights (oh, and did I mention that ads for Diddy’s new fragrance were projected onto the balloons) and white Rolls-Royces lined the driveway. White tents featuring white fabric and large chandeliers dotted Diddy’s massive lawn. The tents covered a spread of steak, lobster, white cake, and white truffles.

When they weren’t trying to keep food from spilling on their white ensembles Diddy’s guests were being entertained by a live jazz band, fire eaters, and a trapeze artist. No word on how Diddy’s ex, Kim Porter fared with keeping her blinding white dress stain-free. It couldn’t have been easy considering she reportedly spent the better part of the night carrying D’Lila Star and Jessie James, the 8-month-old twin girls she shares with Combs.
