Have you ever wanted a fun and easy way for your family and friends to view your scrapbook pages? I have just discovered a new website that allows you to display your scrapbook pages online! I’d like to share my new discovery with you.
You can now build your own scrapbook style website. ScrapbookYourOwnWebsite.com is making it easy for you to share your photos on scrapbook pages. This is a new site that launched in March 2006.
This website can be set up to link to your own domain name, or they can provide one for you. You do not need to have any programming knowledge.
You can create as many albums as you would like to add. They allow you to add to and create albums a few different ways. You can scan your paper layouts from your albums and upload them image to your site, or your can upload your already created digital pages to your scrapbook site. If you aren’t ready to go digital yet, they offer several pre-designed pages that you can use and just drop your pages right onto the layout.
Included in your membership is a new digital scrapbook kit each month. This will (hopefully) encourage you to try out some new techniques. They also have tutorials to show you how to create digital pages.
They offer a 7-day trial membership. If you decide you like it, then you have a few payment options. If you prepay for a one-year subscription, it is $5.95 per month ($71.40 total.) They also give you the option to just buy a three-month subscription for $7.95 a month, or pay month to month for $8.95. All subscriptions include 50 MB, which will hold 300-1000 pictures depending on their size and quality. They also allow you to upgrade so that you can store more photos and pages.
If you are concerned about the privacy of your online scrapbook pages, they allow you to password protect your entire site, or just specific albums. They also have an email notification feature that let’s you send out an email to your guests to let them know that there are new albums up and ready for viewing.
You can also add video and have friends and family make comments in a guestbook.
This seems to be a fun, new way to share our scrapbook layouts with others.
