We are continuing to look at how you can put together a “Holiday Planner,” which will help make planning and preparing for the holidays easier. In my last blog I talked about tackling the first thing on your list and used gift giving as an example.
In this blog we are going to talk about your Christmas card list. Ever run into the problem, similar to gift giving, in trying to remember who you sent cards to the previous year? Put together a permanent list that you can refer back to in your planner
You can create a table through Word or whatever works best for you but this document should include the name of the person or family you are sending a card to, their address and a place to put a checkmark so that you can mark when it was sent off. Keeping this list in your planner will eliminate searching last minute for an address.
One of the great things about starting a “Holiday Planner” in the very beginning of November is being able to space things out. Let’s say you are one of those people who send out 100 cards every year. Who wants to spend one evening writing out 100 cards?
You can utilize your blank calendar that was mentioned in part two of this series. Space the cards out. For instance, you might write on your calendar that the first Saturday of November you are going to write out 25 cards. If you set aside three more Saturdays, by December 1st all of your cards are done. There are so many ways that you can utilize your calendar to map out your holiday
planning.
In my next blog we are going to talk about planning your holiday decorating and baking. Hopefully this has encouraged you to get more organized this year.
