Sometimes it seems that just because we are Homeschoolers we don’t need to keep schedules, after all we are homeschooling and allowing our children to lead their education-right? Well, not necessarily. It is very important to maintain a sense of order while homeschooling. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by creating a homeschooling schedule. By having the children wake up, eat breakfast, and attend classes in an orderly manner you are not only making your life simpler and easier, you are also preparing them for success in the outside world and with their future activities.
Although you have great flexibility you should work as hard as you can to stay on the course of your goals. It is a proven fact that you will accomplish more and make the best use of your time by setting goals and following them.
If you find that certain days you don’t meet your goals, or keep to your schedule, that is fine, just try not to let that become the routine. If it does, you will notice that you are not accomplishing all of the tasks that have been set before you. Maintaining your homeschool schedule will help you take advantage of all of your subjects, will enable you to work more efficiently, and will help children see their goals become realized.
Here is a sample school schedule that you can adjust to meet your own personal needs.
