Cricut Craziness

It seems that everyone has some sort of die cut machine these days. I don’t. I guess I just don’t want to spend the money, or maybe, it’s that I don’t want to spend the money, and then never use it like some people I know. But, if you have one, there are amazing things to be done. I found one such project that just blew me away. I don’t know if this is something that I am amazed at from an, “I never want to do that” perspective, or an, “I wish I had patience for that”, or better yet, an “I need to buy a Cricut right now!”

Whichever one of those thoughts it is, it doesn’t matter. This is an amazing project. This amazing scrapper made an entire Christmas village out of cardstock. Yep, you heard me right. And, all I can say is, WOW! To see pictures, and step by step instructions, go here.

While they claim it is easy, I can’t help but look at a project like that and think, “Where would I find the time?” They also teach you how to make adorable trees out of ribbon, to spruce up the village scene. The houses have windows and doors that open, and all you need is your handy Cricut, and coordinating cardstock. Amazing.

I feel like the last man (or woman I should say) standing that doesn’t have one of these machines. Call me old-fashioned, or call me whatever you want, but I just don’t get the obsession! Yet, I hear stories, I see projects, and I know people that make amazing things with their Cricuts. I’m jealous. The shopper inside me whispers, “you need one of those machines. You could work miracles.” While I’m only joking, I can’t help responding to myself, “You’re right! Maybe I do.”
