Croc Hunter’s Son Attacked by a Snake and Ledger’s Replacements Announced

Since “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s tragic death in 2006, the conservationist’s 9-year-old daughter Bindi has replaced him in the media spotlight. That is until his 4-year-old son got bit by a snake.

Irwin’s son Bob made headlines recently after he sustained a wound from a baby boa constrictor. According to Irwin’s widow, Terri, the snake bit her son’s finger, but it was not venomous and the boy is doing well. So well in fact that he was able to join his sister and his mom at a media event to promote a new line of toys. While there Terri Irwin also revealed that Bindi was first bitten by a snake when she was 18 months old.

Apparently the Croc Hunter’s family is a hardy bunch, and given that it was a then 1-month-old Bob who was infamously filmed in the arms of his famous dad while the animal activist fed a snapping crocodile, I’m not the least bit surprised the boy was unfazed by his recent snake bite.

LEDGER’S REPLACEMENTS ANNOUNCED

In a previous blog I mentioned that insiders were claiming Johnny Depp had been tapped to replace Heath Ledger in his final role in the unfinished movie “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”

Turns out the report was only partially right. According to the BBC, Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Depp will be stepping into Ledger’s role of Tony in the $30-million movie directed by Terry Gilliam.

Producers are not saying how the part is being restructured in the film, which deals with magic, but the BBC is speculating that the production will retain its original footage of Ledger, with Law, Depp and Farrell each playing different versions of Tony.

The 28-year-old actor had just completed the London portion of the movie’s shoot when he was found dead last month in his New York apartment from an accidental overdose of prescription pills.
