Curbing Those Hunger Pains

It has been just over two weeks that I have been daily working out on my Wii Fit Plus and made changes to some of my eating habits. Notice that I said “some.” I am a big advocate of taking small steps.

I have managed to successfully shed a few pounds and I can feel a real difference in my energy levels. Having an exercise routine isn’t the biggest struggle. It is the eating where I fall.

So I have put some plans into motion that include things like adding more fiber into my diet which helps you to feel fuller for a longer period of time, cutting out all sugary snacks, eating more fruits and vegetables and using a smaller plate for my dinner. I am still eating the same types of dinners I always have but cutting the portion size down has helped.

As I find success in these small steps I will be making additional changes along the way. But it has been very encouraging to see progress being made. It is motivating to keep plugging along.

What I am finding to be my biggest struggle right now is curbing the ongoing hunger pains I feel. My stomach is still getting used to consuming less. A tip I recently read in a book that has me very excited and will be blogging about in the near future is that sometimes when you feel hungry, your body really needs water.

I have tried that a few times when a touch of hunger has come upon me. I will drink a glass of water and usually I feel satisfied afterward. That led me to do a search on other ways to curb the hunger pains.

Some suggest eating more of your calories in the morning, which some studies indicate eating a healthy breakfast can help you lose weight. Foods high in protein can help you to feel fuller as well. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables and eggs are specific types of food that can help curb some of your hunger.

Do you have any tips for curbing hunger?
