For most parents today is the day they have been looking forward to since before Christmas—the end of winter recess. Millions of kids head back to school today following an extended holiday vacation. However, my daughter isn’t one of them. Actually, there are quite a few states that don’t reopen schools until next week. That means seven extra days of dealing with the “Moooooooom, I’m bored!” blues.
If your cabin fever is spiking right about now, then consider the following kid-friendly activities to keep boredom at bay:
Aluminum Foil Snowflakes: Stack several sheets of aluminum foil together and fold the stack in half. Next, cut designs out in the shape of snowflakes, being careful not to cut across the crease. Finally, separate the layers to reveal cool snowflakes that can be used for winter decor.
Shaving Cream Snowmen: Place a plastic tablecloth on a flat work surface and spray a can or tow of shaving cream on it. Let your kids have fun making their own snowmen or other white fluffy creations. Clean is simple: Just fold up tablecloth and throw away or wipe down and save for another craft project.
POLAR BEAR TREATS

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon

In a large bowl, combine sugar and butter; beat until light and fluffy.
Add egg; beat well. Add flour and cinnamon; blend well.

Lightly sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar.
Press two chocolate chips into each cookie for eyes and one red M&M for nose.
