When I was a child I was always a fan of Curious George. It was only a matter of time before the story of the beloved money was made into a movie, and now that movie has been released on DVD.
Universal Home Entertainment released Curious George the movie today on DVD. The movie tells the story of George mischievous money and his companion Ted, commonly known as the man with the yellow hat. In the movie both Ted and George make mistakes and then learn from them in typical Curious George style. Ted travels to Africa to find a huge African idol that will save his soon to be destroyed museum. When he gets to Africa he find the huge idol is not that huge at all, and he encounters Curious George. George fascinated with Ted stows away on Ted’s ship home created hilarious antics once he gets there.
The animated film features the celebrity voices of Drew Barrymore, Will Ferrell, Dick Van Dyke, and Eugene Levy as well as a fantastic soundtrack by Jack Johnson. This is a beautifully animated film that will delight younger audiences as well as their parents.
The Curious George DVD has a variety of great extras to entertain both you and your child including an educational game to help younger children learn words, a fun virtual coloring book, a documentary of how Curious George is animated, and a music video with Jack Johnson.
I thought Curious George was a fantastic movie and well worth a purchase to add it to your DVD collection. If you are looking for a nice CD for you and your children to enjoy, the Curious George soundtrack with songs by Jack Johnson has been one of my favorites for months.
Curious George is available on DVD today at a DVD store near you, or online at Amazon.com.
