Curious George, that lovable, curious little monkey is back — and now he has his own series! “Curious George” is coming to PBS Kids this Labor Day!
A few months ago, I wrote about a Curious George DVD — “Curious George Flies a Kite & Other Adventures.” The DVD includes three full episodes from the upcoming show. I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this show and now I do not have to wait much longer. In less than two weeks, Curious George will be on television.
Yes, we all have known Curious George from the books about him and the hit animated movie starring the voice of Will Ferrell as the Man in the Yellow Hat. Although I can not remember who the voice of the Man is in the series, I know that William H. Macy is the Narrator. Anyhow, I digress. This series will bring Curious George alive to our children on a daily basis. Now our kids will have the opportunity to watch that mischievous critter scamper through his many adventures.
From what I have gathered through simple research, each half-hour time slot will host two episodes. The debut episode will be “Curious George Flies a Kite,” the same episode included on the DVD. The second episode in the time slot is called “From Scratch,” but I was unable to find out any more information. From the looks of our local PBS affiliate (WHRO, channel 15), they will be airing this episode three times on the first day — 8:00a.m., 12:30p.m., and 3:30p.m. EST. It also seems that every day, there will be two episodes — one at 8:00a.m. and one at 12:30p.m. The one from the afternoon will run the following morning and then the new episode will air later in the day.
