Cute and Creepy Ideas for Homemade Halloween Treat Cups

Whether you are looking to save money on Halloween party favors or you are searching for a simple seasonal craft to keep your kids busy on a rainy fall day this next project is one to consider.

As I mentioned in my previous blog (which detailed ways to create black cat and baby bat treat cups) this easy art project is fun for kids of all ages. All it requires are a few affordable and easily accessible materials plus a good amount of imagination.

A little creativity will go a long way when crafting these creepy (or cute, depending on your approach) critter cups that can be filled with Halloween treats.

HALLOWEEN TREAT CUPS

Materials:

6 oz. or smaller black and green plastic cups (to save money buy clear or white plastic cups and paint them yourself)

Black pipe cleaners

White pipe cleaners

Black, white and green craft foam

Scissors

Craft Glue or Glue sticks

Wire cutters

Small plastic beads

Googly eyes

Rubber band

1 sheet of paper towel

1 green pompom

Black marker

A variety of Halloween candy

Directions:

To Make Mini Frankenstein

Cut a jagged hairline using the black craft foam. Glue the hairline to the top of the cup, with the straight edge at the top. Wrap a rubber band around the hair to hold in place while it dries.

Cut a 2-inch piece of black pipe cleaner below the hair for the eyebrow.

Below the eyebrow, glue two eyes close together.

Glue plastic bead below the eyes for a nose.

Cut two bolt shapes out of the white foam sheet and glue them on the back of the cup. Position them so that they stick out and are easily visible from the front of the cup.

Let dry completely before filling with Halloween treats.

To Make Mummy

Cut out a “T” shape from the green craft foam. Glue the “T” shape to the front of the cup.

Cut out a set of lips from the green craft foam. Using a black marker, draw a line to form two lips. Glue the lips below the “T” shape on the front of the cup.

Tear a sheet of paper towel into small strips. Using glue, attach the strips of paper to the cup, but only partially cover the “T” shape. Be sure to leave the lips uncovered.

When the entire cup is covered with the paper towels, glue two eyes to the top of the “T” shape.

Next glue a green pompom onto the front for a nose.

Fill the cup with treats.
