KATHY GRIFFIN MARRIES
The loud-mouthed divorcee has tied the knot again… only she’s not the one wearing the ring. Rather, the sitcom star took on the role of minister and married a real life couple last weekend.
Two crazy Kathy Griffin fans reportedly asked the “My Life on the D-List” star to officiate their wedding in New York and naturally the sometime talk show host couldn’t turn down the invitation.
According to the 47-year-old comedienne, she was ordained through an online church and completed additional paperwork to meet New York State requirements before happily marrying Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro. Griffin says she performed a 10-minute service that ranged from telling raunchy jokes to having the bride recite the reception menu.
Need to see it to believe it? You’ll get the chance when the entire ceremony is shown on Griffin’s Bravo reality show in June.
NICK LACHEY HEADS BACK TO SCHOOL
Now that he is no longer a “Newlywed” singer Nick Lachey has time to kill.
Which is likely why he agreed to take on the role of executive producer for a new MTV reality show. Network execs describe it as a version of the ’80s movie and TV show “Fame.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the yet-to-be-named series will focus on students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Lachey’s alma mater. (The school’s other famous alum includes Sarah Jessica Parker and Carmen Electra.)
Show producers say the stories will be performed by the students. However, they didn’t reveal how much influence Lachey (who proposed the project) would have on the plotlines of if Jessica Simpson’s ex-husband would be doing some of the on-location casting himself.
So basically what we’re looking at here is a take off of “Fame,” “High School Musical,” and “The Real World.”
Does it sound like something you’d watch?
