Daily Deal Web Sites and Health Care Deals

Did you know that some of the same daily deal type web sites that you use to help keep little luxuries like spa services and dinners out within your budget can also help you to afford health care services? I was surprised to learn that sites like Groupon and LivingSocial can help consumers to fill in the spaces that are often left by their health insurance coverage. You know, those things that make you wonder why you pay so much for health insurance that does not include them. Things like dental exams and cleanings, eyewear, and the like are often left out of many insurance policies leaving consumers to fork over the money for these important items or do without.

Anyone who has gone a few years without a dental exam and cleaning can tell you that the money that is saved by skipping those visits is not worth it. The prices for those services can make them hard to squeeze into already overstretched budgets, and for some people there really is no option but to skip them. If you are able to purchase a discount coupon for those services, it may well bring them within your reach. Of course you do have to book the appointment before the coupon expires, but that is a minimal inconvenience when you think of how much money you are saving.

By now, you are probably wondering what kinds of health care deals there are out there on the internet. Recently, a $200.00 doctor visit in the New York area sold for only $69.00 on Groupon. Need a flu shot? Someone in Seattle paid $17 instead of $35 for theirs thanks to AmazonLocal. Of course, the closer you live to a major metropolitan area the better the selection of deals is likely to be. When I visited Groupon, the closest city I could find is Boston which is about three and a half hours away. If the deal were amazing enough, I suppose that I could justify the expense of traveling there. Even if I can not find deals on health care products in my area because I live in the boonies, you may want to check out what you can find because you could save yourself a bundle on things that you need that you are having trouble paying for.
