“Dancing with the Stars”—Couples News

Two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champ Cheryl Burke may not have been paired with season three contest Joey Lawrence on the dance floor, but the two are closer than ever right now. No, Lawrence hasn’t left his wife to cha-cha with Burke off the dance floor. Rather, Burke has been seeing more of Joey Lawrence because she is dating his brother Matthew.

“They are definitely together,” a friend of Burke’s told PEOLE Magazine. “Cheryl is very happy.”

The couple met through Joey (during the season three taping of the popular ABC show), but sources say their relationship didn’t blossom until they reconnected during the “Dancing with the Stars” national tour.

The tour ended Monday night and according to the magazine, Burke and Lawrence were seen getting cozy at the wrap party in Atlantic City.

“Matthew and Cheryl were dancing close in the VIP area to a few songs” a source told PEOPLE.

But, that’s not all, according to another source, 22-year-old Burke reportedly had champagne, strawberries and a cake reading “Happy Birthday Matt” sent to her Atlantic City hotel suite on Sunday, Lawrence’s 27th birthday.

Perhaps they can double date with “Dancing with the Stars”’ runner-up team, Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff who are officially real-life partners as well.

In more “Dancing with the Stars” news… PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Paul McCartney’s soon to be ex-wife, Heather Mills may be showing off her samba skills on this season’s show, which premieres March 19th. (Mills’s rep declined to comment on the report.) For those of you who don’t know, in 1993 a motorcycle hit Mills. The accident necessitated an amputation of her left leg below the knee—as a result, she wears a prosthetic device.

If the rumor about Mills is true, she’ll be joining former ‘N Sync-er Joey Fatone and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, who are reportedly set to appear on this season’s show. We’ll find out for sure who will be hitting the dance floor when “Dancing with the Stars” alum Jerry Springer announces the new cast on February 21st.
