Barnes & Noble will be one of the many retail stores that will be open for the entire Independence Day weekend. As such, they are having several different sales right now. Print out a coupon before you visit the store, and save 15% on one of the items you purchase.
Those who are employed in retail jobs tend to dread three day weekends. I know this, because I used to be among those poor, unfortunate, souls. Most people will be enjoying a three day weekend so that they can celebrate the 4th of July with their families. These people are free to relax, hang out at a BBQ, and check out some fireworks displays.
Retail workers, however, are unlikely to be able to partake in these types of activities this weekend. Instead, they can count on being assigned to work many shifts, so that they can help sell items to all the extra shoppers that the stores are expecting to see. It has been a few years since I’ve had to work at a retail job, and I am still scarred from the experience.
Barnes & Noble seems to be the place that a lot of families want to visit before they go check out the fireworks displays. It is easy to see why. The store has air conditioning. You can use an actual bathroom, instead of the port-a-potty that you are likely to find at the firework displays. There is a cafe, and a kids section. In my experience, this draws a lot of families who just need to fill a few hours before it is time for the fireworks to start.

This can be very helpful if one of your children finds something that he or she absolutely has to have while you are killing time at the store.
